How much does a new boiler cost in Newcastle in 2026?
The actual price range for a boiler fitted in Newcastle in 2026
For 2026, a fully fitted boiler install across Newcastle and the wider North East falls into a £2,200 to £4,500 range when supplied with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar. That covers the boiler itself, the flue, the fittings, commissioning, Gas Safe building-regs registration, and removal of the old boiler.
The cheapest installs are like-for-like combi swaps in homes where the existing pipework is in good order. Most jobs land in the middle of the range, around £2,800 to £3,600. The top of the range covers system changes (combi to system, regular to combi), gas supply upgrades, or installs that need a power flush before commissioning.
Cheaper quotes do exist in the market. They are almost always non-accredited installs, which means a 2 to 5 year manufacturer warranty instead of up to 12 years. The same boiler, on the same property, fitted by a non-accredited engineer. On a 12-year asset, the warranty gap is worth more than the £400 saving most of those quotes claim.

What pushes the fitted price up beyond the boiler itself
Four things move the total within the band.
Whether it’s a like-for-like swap or a system change. A combi-to-combi swap in the same location is the cheapest job we do. Changing from a system or regular setup to a combi means removing the hot-water cylinder, the cold-water tank, capping unused pipework, and rerouting. That swap typically adds £400 to £800.
Flue routing. A straight horizontal flue through an external wall costs almost nothing extra. A vertical flue through a flat roof, or a long horizontal run across a kitchen ceiling, costs more in materials and labour. Conservation-area properties around Jesmond and parts of Gosforth sometimes need a specific flue placement that adds £150 to £300.
Whether the system needs a power flush. If your radiators are sludged up (a cold patch at the bottom of a radiator is the giveaway), the new boiler can’t be commissioned to its warranty terms without a flush first. Worcester Bosch’s warranty assumes a clean system. A power flush on a typical Newcastle three-bed adds £350 to £550. We tell you at survey if it’s needed, not after install.
Controls and a system filter. Most installs we do include a Worcester Bosch system filter and a smart thermostat as standard, which the warranty terms require. A budget quote that skips the filter is usually £200 to £350 cheaper on paper but voids parts of the warranty.
Combi, system or regular - How the boiler type affects price
The three boiler types fit different homes. Pricing varies with type, but mostly through whether you’re swapping like-for-like or changing systems.
A combi is the cheapest to install in a home that already has one. No cylinder, no tank, all heating and hot water from one unit. Right for most one- and two-bathroom Newcastle homes.
A system boiler costs more upfront because it pairs with a hot-water cylinder. Right for homes with more than one bathroom running hot water simultaneously, or homes where a combi can’t keep up with peak demand.
A regular (heat-only) boiler is rarely the cheapest option in 2026 unless you’re keeping an existing tank-fed system. Most homeowners in older properties move to a combi or system on replacement.

If a competitor’s quote is materially cheaper, it usually omits one or more of these. The most commonly missing items, in order, are the system filter, the smart thermostat, the building-regs notification, and old-boiler disposal.
When a cheaper quote isn't actually cheaper
Three things to check on any boiler quote before you sign.
1. Is the installer Worcester Bosch accredited? A non-accredited installer cannot register the full guarantee, only the standard 2 to 5 year manufacturer warranty. Accreditation status for any installer is checkable on the Worcester Bosch website.
2. Does the quote include the Worcester Bosch system filter and compatible controls? Worcester Bosch’s warranty terms require both. A quote that omits them is cheaper today but invalidates part of the warranty.
3. Does the quote include a power flush if your system is over 10 years old or shows signs of sludge? Skipping the flush voids the warranty on the heat exchanger, which is the single most expensive component to replace.
We see all three corners cut on quotes that come in £300 to £500 below ours across the Newcastle market. None of them are actually cheaper once you price in the warranty gap over a 12-year life. If your priority is the lowest sticker price today, we won’t be the cheapest, and you may be happier with another installer. If you want the full guarantee and a clean system that holds it, that’s the job we do.
How to get an honest fitted-price quote in Newcastle
Three things make a quote honest.
A free home survey before the price is given.
A boiler quote written from a phone call is a guess. Newcastle housing stock varies house to house, even within the same street in Heaton or Whitley Bay. The pipework, the existing flue route, the radiator condition, and whether a flush is needed can only be assessed in person.
A fixed price after the survey.
The number you sign should not move once the work starts, unless something genuinely unforeseen comes up during the install. If that happens, it has to be agreed with you before the work continues.
